How Do I Lead Authentically In A Culture Of Inauthenticity?

In a world where so many things are fickle and fake, how do you lead powerfully AND authentically? This could be (and will be) a whole blog series, but for now, there are two things to be aware of.

  1. Beware of and become immune to audience capture.
    If you are not clear about your authentic identity as a leader, you will unconsciously iterate your style and approach based on how your audience responds to it. Over time, you risk being seduced into the type of leader who is shaped by those they work with rather than shaping them and the work you do together. This often leads to a downward spiral of extreme imposter-syndrome.

  2. Understanding the authentic version of your leadership vision is critical.
    These include the authentic qualities when you are at your best, the aspirational qualities that will help you deliver greater impact and a deep understanding of what you are unapologetic about. All of these principles are essential for leaders to drive results and influence others from a place of authenticity and intentionality.
