What’s the one thing I should grow and develop this year?

By Jayson Krause, Managing Director of Level 52 & Award-Winning Author of The Science Behind Success

Most people say they want to grow, but very few actually want to. Because growth is hard. A biological requirement for growth is struggle and most professionals want “easy street” and cruise control. They do what they can to avoid the frustration and depletion that comes with struggle.

But in a recent conversation with one of my executive coaching clients, we spoke about a “different” development goal. That goal is to double your comfort zone.

You likely stay in your comfort zone because it’s not only easy, it’s where you feel effective. However, as the saying goes, you met the enemy and the enemy is you. When it comes to your growth, the size (or lack thereof) of your comfort zone is often the thing that holds you back. So if you want to double your business, you better double your comfort zone, and that will look different for everyone.

I speak more about this in the 17-minute podcast, and here’s a great article that breaks down the path from comfort to growth.
